Why did my payment or payout history disappear, and why do I have a new Stripe account?

Stripe privacy updates can create a new linked sub-account for platform activity. Your funds are typically not lost, but recorded in a different linked account.

Why this happensCommon symptomsHow to verify and resolveBenefits of this Stripe change
1

Why this happens

  • Stripe introduced a privacy upgrade that limits using the same Stripe account across multiple platforms.
  • Because of this, Stripe can create a new linked "sub-account" from your main account.
  • The sub-account usually keeps the same core business and banking information.
2

Common symptoms

  • Payment or payout history appears missing in the account you expected.
  • Card readers or product lists do not appear where you were previously checking.
  • You were not aware that Stripe created additional linked accounts.
3

How to verify and resolve

  1. 1Open Stripe Dashboard and click your company name/logo at top-left.
  2. 2Switch between linked accounts and locate activity under the matching sub-account.
  3. 3Confirm that payouts in the sub-account still point to your bank details.
  4. 4Use account IDs to avoid confusion when multiple accounts have similar names.

Benefits of this Stripe change

  • Payments are usually not lost; they are separated by account context.
  • Privacy improves because each platform sees only its own activity scope.
  • You can still access both main and linked accounts from Stripe Dashboard.

Important note

For payout or payment issues, first confirm the correct linked Stripe account and its status in your Stripe Dashboard. If the issue still remains, please contact the Pokato Team.
